“I Will Expose the Rot at City Hall!” Geoffrey Mosiria Fires Warning as Sakaja Fallout Deepens.

Former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has vowed to expose alleged corruption and mismanagement at City Hall, escalating his public fallout with Governor Johnson Sakaja after his removal from office.

The political tensions at Nairobi City Hall have taken another turn after Geoffrey Mosiria declared that he would not remain silent about what he describes as wrongdoing within the county government.

Mosiria, who previously served in the Health and Environment departments before heading Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, has accused unnamed individuals of attempting to intimidate him and prevent him from speaking about alleged problems within the county administration.

“Let me be honest with you, my friends. We are going to unmask the rot in City Hall. We are going to expose and unmask the rot in City Hall,” Mosiria declared, according to Capital FM.

Mosiria Accuses City Hall of Failing Nairobi Residents

The former county official has questioned the performance of the Sakaja administration, claiming that service delivery has been undermined by internal problems and alleged corruption.

“Nothing is working there,” Mosiria claimed, challenging Nairobi residents to demand answers about how the county is being managed.

He also made allegations concerning the county’s liquor department, claiming that money had been looted. However, the accusations have not been independently substantiated in the statements reported, and the individuals allegedly responsible were not identified.

Mosiria insists that he will not be intimidated into silence.

“I cannot be intimidated. You cannot cow me,” he said.

How the Fallout With Sakaja Began

Mosiria has traced his disagreements with Sakaja to changes in his responsibilities in the Health department in December 2023.

He claims that his accounting officer powers were transferred to other officials and that his department’s budget was reduced from KSh1.2 billion to KSh100 million.

He later moved to the Environment docket before being reassigned to Citizen Engagement and Customer Service in November 2025. Mosiria has described the changes as sidelining him, while the county’s administrative reshuffles were presented as changes intended to improve service delivery.

The disagreement has since developed into an open political confrontation.

Mosiria’s Political Ambitions Add to the Tensions

The dispute has taken on a political dimension after Mosiria expressed his intention to challenge Sakaja for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.

His public criticism of the county administration, combined with his political ambitions, has placed him at the centre of an increasingly public dispute over leadership, accountability and service delivery in Nairobi.

On October 21, 2026, reports emerged that Mosiria had been removed from his position as Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service. The county announced administrative changes that reassigned responsibility for the docket.

Mosiria has continued to speak publicly about his experience at City Hall, suggesting that his departure will not end his criticism of the administration.

What Happens Next?

Mosiria’s vow to expose alleged wrongdoing raises questions about whether he will present documents or other evidence to support his accusations.

For Nairobi residents, the central issues are accountability, transparent management of public resources and reliable delivery of county services.

The allegations remain claims made by Mosiria and should not be treated as established findings of corruption without supporting evidence. A response from the governor and any relevant official records would help clarify the disputed issues.

For now, Mosiria’s message is clear: he intends to continue speaking about what he says is happening behind the scenes at City Hall.
